How To Level Faster With The Right Glyphs – A Warlock Leveling Guide

Added 02:47pm Mar 18, 2010 by Philip

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King on PC

Leveling can be fun if you are playing your first character – but doing it again and again is boring and frustrating. My Warlock leveling guide will help you to level faster and save lots of time by choosing the best Glyphs to supplement your affliction talent build.

Choosing the optimal glyphs is very important – you have to tweak every part of your character if you really want to level 1-80 as fast as possible. If you choose the right glyphs, you will deal more damage and spend less mana. Get the wrong glyphs and you will waste lots of time on leveling.

Now, what are the optimal glyphs to level an affliction warlock?

The Warlock Leveling Guide – These Glyphs Make You Level Faster!

Corruption – Level 15 – Major Glyph

You Corruption spell has a 4% chance to cause you to enter a Shadow Trance state after damaging the opponent. The Shadow Trance state reduces the casting time of your next Shadow Bolt spell by 100%.

Curse of Agony – Level 15 – Major Glyph

Increases the duration of your Curse of Agony by 4 sec.

Siphon Life – Level 30 – Major Glyph

Increases the healing you receive from your Siphon Life talent by 25%.

Affliction Warlock Leveling Guide: When To Get The Glyphs

When you hit level 15, your first major glyph slot will be unlocked. That’s when you have to decide between two good, available glyphs. The first Glyph is Corruption, the second Curse of Agony.

Glyph: Corruption will give you a slight chance to trigger an instant shadowbolt. Very useful, but it depends a lot on your luck. Glyph: Curse of Agony enhances one of your most used spells and gives you a reliable bonus. That’s why I recommend you to choose Glyph: Curse of Agony as your first major Glyph.

At level 30 you will get your second major slot and have to decide again. I´m going to assume you followed my advice and got Glyph: Curse of Agony, so your next choice is between Corruption and Siphon Life.

Corruption just got a lot better since you can get the talent: Nightfall now. It increases your chances to trigger the instant shadowbolt and you will get more opportunities to kill off your target quickly. That can also lead to some mana problems because the shadowbolt is not for free and killing the mob “too fast” will make your DoTs less effective.

I suggest you to get Glyph: Corruption only if you have no mana problems at all. In this case it`s a great choice to level faster.

Siphon Life on the other hand adds to your Warlocks ability to always keep your hit-points up (and also your mana thanks to Life Tap). You will definitely use the spell Siphon Life a lot and the matching Glyph will help you to avoid all breaks between the “kills”. That’s a lot of saved time! I recommend you to choose Glyph: Siphon Life if you have some mana problems and want to increase your efficiency.

Either way, by choosing two of my recommended three major Glyphs at level 15 and 30 I´m absolutely sure you will level a lot faster and will have less problems.

I hope you got some value from my warlock leveling guide – I really put some effort into it.
