An original blog about a gamer who also spends time in the "real world." It's as creative as rebellious stickers produced by corporate American to be sold to teenagers who need help expressing their angsty originality. WARNING: May contain sarcasm

Made with RPG Maker VX, it's about a 2 hour game with 12 different endings. I'm not much of an artist or musician, but I think the story should make up for that- play as a follower of "The Living God," who's just returned with the means of awakening him. Discover the true nature of the cult and choose who to stand with when destruction becomes immanent.

Post a reply if you'd like a link to help test this puppy.

Who Leveled it?

Not sure how this happened, but my g/f tried to get on my WoW account to do dailies (I don't really play, but she uses my character for JCing), and she found out the PW had been reset. I checked my e-mail, changed the PW, and upon logging in, I found out my account had been suspended.

Her account is fine, so it must have been something I visited, though I don't know what happened (keep the porn ideas down folks, I've been a bit too busy for that). The only thing I can think of is that it must have occurred after I got my Starcraft 2 invite (which was legit, as I didn't click any of the links in the e-mail but typed out the information into the battle.net official site).

Ah well. Shit happens. Hopefully my stuff isn't that messed up.

Edit: Oh, I haven't given up, and sadly, this isn't the first time it's happened. People target WoW players all the time. It just sucks that it happens. I'll probably get my stuff back, but having to change passwords and shit because someone is after my WoW pixels sucks.

Still not sure how I got this. Found the trojan on my computer, but I haven't DLed anything WoW related in ages, or visited any sites I didn't normal visit, except for 2 social sites.

Who Leveled it?

OK, well, a few things first:

Trial on my RPG Maker's almost up, and I'm maybe 1/4 of the way through my mini-RPG. My g/f and bro have played it a bit, and my g/f's last ran took her about an hour, which is kinda neat to think about. However, I'm still not sure if I should purchase the damn thing.

I tried to look at WoW again, but... ugh. On the one hand, it's nice that it's a game a lot of people around here seem to play. The downside is they get quite addicted, and it's to things I'm not really interested in. Fighting against a computer's gimmicks is ok for solo play, after going through Dragon Age, but the main thing that kept me interested in DA was having my own personal story. The fights could be tough, but with my limited time, I started just playing it on easy mode... and found it more enjoyable! I don't care about the challenge against some lame monster. I care about having a character I feel attached to, and the problem with DA's combat was that the "good" skills weren't always the cool or interesting ones (i.e. templar spec).

I'll probably try hitting Darkfall again on the NA server. There's a $1 trial up (which I kinda like, ever since I read that ~70% of WoW accounts don't get past lvl 10, indicating people just use those accounts for spam and guild creation), so I figure, maybe I'll test out NA, see how it is, and if I need to play more, I can just move my character to NA and take the newbie's gear

I hate to say this, but.... I've started seeing other social gaming network sites. gamerdna.com and avatarsunited.com. We'll see how their populations are.

Who Leveled it?

So atm, I'm not playing any MMOs. I played Dragon Age, and that was fun, but addictive, so I went through the game.... um, three times, and figured that after ~300 hours, it would be best to do something else. I've started to make my own (very simple) RPG on RPG Maker VX, though one thing I'm missing is social interaction.

I did WoW's Lunar Festival, but that just reminded me why I'm not playing WoW.

Darkfall's been calling to me, but that involves finding people to play with again, since my old guild seems to be gone.

Anyone played Vanguard, Pirates of the Burning Sea, or EQ2 and can comment on PvP, crafting, and/or housing? I'm like to play something with custimizable crafting, epic battles for land/resource/housing control, etc, but without having levels (or at least a quick leveling process).

Who Leveled it?

Joined my brother's guild, but it's a PvE guild. There are people who claim to like PvP, but they seem anti-social. Like, this weekend, we had 3 people playing the same BG, but none of them were with other guildies. I tried suggesting we team up, even delayed my messages in case they were missing them in the BGs due to people talking, but nothing. Maybe they were with other people outside the guild, but some sort of response would have been nice.

There's a priest who does respond from time to time, but his response is always "I'll go if there's a group." Now, 1. 2 people makes a group imo. And 2. I'm plate. Of all the possible classes for a healer to start a group with, would a plate class (or feral bear) be the best way to start?

Not only that, but the guild tends to make personal attacks. I have been kicked from this guild several times, but as a joke (you know, you ask a question, your GM gives you a sarcastic answer while someone provides a good one, you tell the GM that the other guy is better, he kicks you, and laughs are had). I made a comment about "the best movie [he had seen] this year" and he went nuts. At first, I thought he wanted a serious conversation, but it turns out, he was after blood since I had apparently hurt his feelings. When I tried to discuss this, he just stopped talking.

I'm starting to remember why I left this game.

Who Leveled it?

So after like 7 months of Darkfall my brother and girlfriend (and Brewfest) got me back to World of Warcraft. I'm mainly playing on Dragonmaw as Horde (orc/DK named Genk), but it's digusting how carebear the whole thing is. Darkfall was full pvp, full loot, with little to no pve but everyone was grinding skills for the most part, aside from those who had them.

WoW is... not much different. That is, there's a whole game in there but everyone's just grinding. Grinding rep, badges, honor, etc. I hate raiding, dailies are a chore I'm putting up with, and BGs... well, we'll start there.

There's a load of achievements for BGs and arenas. Unlike with raids, these will most likely only be achieved via pugs since it seems no one wants to form a premade group. There's no such thing as a pvp guild from my experience. When I tried looking for one, I was mainly trolled. both in game and in various forums.

The thing about WoW is that it's, in a sense, an anti-social game. I'd argue it isn't the only one, but raiding is a big part of this. People are mainly in guilds for the loot. They may not exactly like each other, or really have friends outside their RL ones, but they join for gear. If you do have friends and want to get things done, you have to make sure you don't do certain activities, such as heroics or raids, without your friends, because if you do it with a pug while waiting for them to log on, you won't be able to play with them later (alts aside). If you and your friend don't mind doing that seperate, then scenario 2 is that you do your own things, get saved, and when your friend is on, they'll go off on their own to do the same thing you did! Without a high amount of coordination, the only time you may play with your friends is during a scheduled weekly raid, where you probably play with around 20 people you may not even like for a chance at getting purples and possibley drama.

Which is why I prefer the pvp. You aren't as restricted, except maybe by arenas, which need to be coordinated in a way similar to raiding, but can be much shorter, or even longer if you and your friends choose to do so. Everyone gains something from the experience too. You may walk away from a raid with some badges, which did make the system better, but with pvp, if you have to duck out suddenly, you won't miss out on something you can only do once a week. As well, pvp requires more coordination and generally takes more skill, IF the other side gives a damn as well. I'm not the biggest fan on arenas since I find them highly restrictive and bland, especially since they took out more random factors, but BGs aren't half bad. You have multiple goals and targets, and sometimes have big things to tear down or destroy, and you get to do it again in, at the most, about 2 hours later.

The problem is that the PvE area is so restrictive that most players have to invest a lot of time in it in order to be able to compete in a raid environment. Even though I'm on a pvp server, I can't find any organization to pvp with, including the guild I joined (mainly a raiding guild, but filled with people I know).

I've started looking for people to pvp with instead. I found one person, through this site (which they don't use anymore, lol), and that's the only one I've played with. I maybe have 2 other people, but I usually find them right before I need to go, and when I do see them on, they're doing PvE.

I've heard about Aion, but 1. I'd prefer to play with people I know, and these guys are hooked to WoW, and 2. I'm not looking for more grinding. I'm happy enough with WoW, plugging away at my achievements and silently watching others tear eachother apart, but it'd be nice to find some people with similar interests to chat with while we try to crush another team of players.
