So for the most part right now, I'm playing TERA every other weekend when they open the closed beta tests and replaying the Diablo 3 beta over and over again with the different classes since the beta is more of a teaser than a real beta!!
My thoughts are... TERA is awesome, it's been well worth the wait of over a year since I got bored with WoW and went looking for something that could be the next big thing. The graphics in this game are amazing! There is such much detail on the character models, the mobs, and the scenery, there's not a missed detail anywhere! In addition, sure it's the traditional run here, run there, kill this, kill that questing, but the combat is definitely different than any other MMO I've played and because of that I really like it. No more with the "okay I'm locking target on you so my hits and spells are coming at you no matter how much you try to hop and jump around like a demented bunny on speed" in TERA you have to physically land your spell or hit on a mob to do damage. So if you miss, you miss. This is pretty cool to because if you are good at evasive manuever you can conceivable go an entire fight without taking a single point of damage. I have to say, it's living up to its hype!
Diablo 3 has been hard to really get a sense of since the beta is just a small part of ACT I. The gameplay does not appear to have changed much. The characters we know and love are back again, such as Deckard Cain! :) The new artisan crafting system appears to have some potential to be pretty cool, but other than that I haven't been able to see what the game will really be like. I'm a bit disappointed in this one, I've seen nothing in the beta that justifies a decade of waiting, but I am still eagerly anticipating it's release, if Blizzard ever sets a friggin release date!
