How I started gaming:
I was at least exposed to video games very young. We had an Intellivision, very interesting game system...for those of you thinking "how could she have had an Intellivision, they were made in 1980 and she wasn't born until 1983" let me say two things 1. Intellivision consoles and games were actually in production until 1990 and 2. the console I had used to belong to my dad. :) lol The thing I remember most about it was how the different games had these cute little inserts for the controllers to tell you which buttons did what. Starting with the NES my grandma bought my brother, literally, every game system that came out. While I usually got to watch my brother I rarely got to play...why would a little girl want to play with a video game instead of her dolls? (sarcasm obviously...)
My first introduction to "online gaming" came in 1992,when I was only 9 years old on my dad's BBS with some wonderful (for the time) MUDs hehe

I think I was about 14 when I was over at my dad's one weekend and my brother was playing this really cool looking game on my dad's computer, so I waited for my turn (which came around 3am ugh lol) My dad explained to me it was a mmorpg called The Realm. Most people have no idea what I'm talking about when I mention this game, so I'll just say it was a lot of fun! I ended up playing the rest of the night well into the next afternoon. By the next time I went over to see my dad he was beta testing something new, something called EverQuest.
My brother and I both fell in love, my dad gave us his user name and password so we could play at home. As soon as it came out in stores my brother and I begged my mom to buy it for us. Surprisingly she did, but only one account so we still had to share. We were constantly on from when we got home from school till when we went to bed at night. After about a year of this my mom decided it was unhealthy for us and cancelled our account (bad mom!! lol) I didn't get to play EQ again until I was 19, living in my own apartment in college, I'd stay up all night playing to the dismay of my boyfriend who quickly realized I'd rather play the game than pay attention to him. (well he was a jerk!) When EQ2 came out all my friends on EQ made the jump and I didn't have a computer that would run it so I just stopped playing.
When I started working at RadioShack when I was 22, a couple of my coworkers played World of Warcraft. I'd heard of it before and the more they talked about it, the more I wanted to play, but I still had the same computer I'd had when I couldn't play EQ2 so there was no way I'd be playing WoW on it! lol In June that year I bought a new computer (capable of running WoW of course!) and have been happily playing since, along with a host of other MMOs on and off. EQ still of course, EQ2, DDO, CoH/V, Guild Wars, Lineage II,and various free ones from time to time that I can't even remember now :)
