"The Hunger Games" just got a wedding dresses lot cooler.

 

Lenny Kravitz has been cast in the cocktail dresses film adaptation of the book series as Cinna, a fashion stylist who designs the outrageous costumes that main character Katniss (Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence) wears while participating in the Hunger Games.

 

But it wasn't the rocker’s chic personal style that scored him the role.

 

"When I saw Lenny's work in 'Precious,' I was just knocked out," says "Games" director Gary Ross. "It was quiet and strong and designer wedding dresses understated and open-hearted: all qualities which define this character."

 

Kravitz – whose daughter with Lisa Bonet, Zoe, is also a talented actress who stars in the "X-Men: First Class" – joins a bridesmaid dresses plus size cast that already includes Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth. Filming began last week in North Carolina.

 

But Kravitz fans need not worry the evening dresses film will overshadow his music – his ninth studio album, "Black and White America" will be released Aug. 30.
