Medieval England Raided Scythia

Added 09:59am Oct 28, 2008

Today, I joined the King of Medieval England and his court in their raid of Scythia. I was in Medieval England to attend Tightline Kidd’s Fighting Class but I think I missed it. I then went home only to return back to Medieval England upon receiving a group notice addressed to the Knights, Squires and Paiges of the land. I’m not a Knight, I’m not a Squire and I’m also not a Paige in Medieval England (RP-wise) but I still went back there to see what the notice was about.

Medieval England raided Scythia

At Medieval England, I learned that the King is organizing a raiding party and that he plans to raid the land of Scythia. I’ve never been to Scythia so I decided to tag along. The was able to form a small party which includes Tightline Kidd, oldpainless Dagger, Craig Stallion and one or two others (sorry I kinda forgot your names). Spartan Theater and JasonDark’s Concert

Added 09:58am Oct 28, 2008

mikeD Streeter asked me to contact the current King of Sparta about some changes that they did in The Spartan Empire sim. I really didn’t want to bother anyone so I just went there myself. I know, I said I won’t return to The Spartan Empire but this one was different, mikeD requested it.

Rulers of Sparta

When I got there, I wasn’t sure what I was looking for so I just wandered around until I found it, the Spartan Theater and the Spartan Court. Between the two is a small where a series of stone figures are lined up. Engraved on these stone figures are the names of The Spartan Empire’s former Kings and Queens. I was surprsed to learn that The Spartan Empire had that many rulers already in less than a year. King Dacalen and Queen Jackie’s names are there too. Fun at the Harvest Faire

Added 09:58am Oct 28, 2008

A few days ago Medieval England celebrated their first Harvest Faire (I think it was their first) and I was their to enjoy the festivities. The Harvest Faire was a two day all day event with games, prizes and barrels of ale for everyone to enjoy.

Me @Medieval England

Me @Medieval England

I was more of a spectator than a participant on the first day of the event. I spent most of my day just watching the games and taking snapshots of the activities. Unfortunately, some of my snapshots did not get uploaded. I was uploading my snapshots by sending them by e-mail to Flickr. Flickr then crossposted them to my Blogger blog but Flickr was not able to save a few of them. It must be because of lag or something. [...continue reading Fun at the Harvest Faire]

Horse On A Stick

Added 09:57am Oct 28, 2008

Today (or was it yesterday), I met Johnnytreadlightly Nightfire. He is the owner of JTL Designs and creator of many medieval items like swords, armors, structures and more. In fact, I have one of his weapons, the Askold Warhammer (Horseback), and I’m saving some lindens to buy a standard version of the Hammer.

I found him sitting at the Wharf where we had a brief chat. He also showed me his newly created Horse On A Stick which is currently FREE at Medieval England. The horse is quite funny and it reminded me of my kids playing horsy with our broom or whatever stick they can find. If you want one then come down to Medieval England. It’s located at the Wharf just beside the big ship. [...continue reading Horse On A Stick]

Got Angry for a Freebie!

Added 09:55am Oct 28, 2008

I was at Medieval England today waiting for the start of the Harvest Faire. While I was looking around, a squire of Annwn Barony named Rhyno Wirefly went to spar with a citizen named pug Lemon using a sword named Excalibur. Excalibur is a sword embedded on a rock which is near the Jousting Arena. Rhyno Wirefly was able to extract it from the rock.

His name is pug Lemon and he got angry for a FREEBIE!

His name is pug Lemon and he got angry for a FREEBIE!

Now, while I was shooting some arrows I read a message from Excalibur that pug Lemon failed to pull it out. It seems that the sword Excalibur re-appears after being pulled out of the rock. I got curious and so I tried pulling it out too and after a few tries Excalibur was released from the rock. It means that I got the sword. He he he! [...continue reading Got Angry for a Freebie!]

Medieval England’s Harvest Faire

Added 05:50am Oct 18, 2008

On October 18 and 19 (Saturday and Sunday), 2008 RPG Empire’s Medieval England will hold a Harvest Faire event. So, what is this Harvest Faire thing? Honestly, I am not familiar with it but I stumbled upon a Harvest Faire website and according to that website:

Harvest Faire is a modern interpretation of a late 15th century European fall harvest celebration and tournament. Entertainers and a market mix with the sounds of good-natured martial competition and the smells of period cooking. Watch a craftsperson plying their trade, try your hand at games of chance and skill, and cheer for the warrior of your choice at the Field of Honors. - HarvestFaire.org

Just like the real thing, Medieval England’s Harvest Faire will also feature games and tournaments like Jousting, Horse Racing and others. For a complete list of events please see the schedule below. [...continue reading Medieval England’s Harvest Faire]

A Look at Sydney Harbour 1808

Added 01:05am Oct 17, 2008

I wrote about my visit to Sydney Harbour 1808 just a few minutes ago but it seems that it took me too long that my session time expired before I could finish writing it and because of that the editor didn't save what I wrote when I clicked on the save button. Instead, it asked me to login again. Arrgh! This made me remember why I like Wordpress better than Joomla when it comes to writing and editing text. Anyway, I'll try to re-write a brief one this time.

Kabalyero at Sydney Harbour 1808

In my initial visit to Sydney Harbour 1808 I landed underwater. I tried to get out of the water by sitting but unfortunately I haven't rezzed enough yet to see any chairs to sit on. I teleported back home and tried again at a later time. After a while I received a message from the owner of Sydney Harbour, GaiaGirl Gigamon, informing me that she has fixed the landing area. I went back after a few hours and this time I landed on the pier infront of the Rum Rebel Inn.

A Look at Renaissance Island

Added 01:03am Oct 17, 2008

A few days ago I went and visit Renaissance Island, an RP and Combat sim set in medieval times. I got the landmark to Renaissance Island from Dale Harmison's jousting group in Second Life. The landmark dropped me right beside the Jousting Arena but I didn't want to start there. Now, when I landed near the jousting arena I received a welcome message and a notecard with information about the sim. In that notecard are landmarksto various key locations in the sim and since I wanted to start my personal tour from the beginning I choose and opened the most obvious starting location which is the Common Area.

Me @ Renaissance Island

At the common area, you will find a calendar of the sim's upcoming events, a sign that gives out information about the sim in a notecard, a dummy named Goody Throckmorton and a carriage stop. The carriage stop works like this, you touch it and then a ridable horse drawn carriage appears in-front of you. You can then ride the carriage and it will take you to various locations around the sim. I only rode it to take a quick snapshot but did the exploring on foot.

A Look at Egypt Valley of the Gods

Added 12:50am Oct 17, 2008

Today I visited Egypt Valley of the Gods. A roleplay and combat sim inspired by ancient Egypt and owned by Skyyy McCallen and Lurgan Ling. They were once the rulers of RPG Empire's Egyptian Empire but unfortunately it was closed but, now, they have their own Egyptian sim to rule. I only found out about it while I was at Medieval England. It seems that they have some roleplay going on between each other. The Pharaoh gave me a landmark and I also requested to be added to the group so that I could get notices of events and other updates.

Egypt Valley of the Gods

As always, my visit starts at the landing area where you will find a teleporter that will take to, what it seems to be, four major locations on the sim. These locations are; 1. Arena of the Gods, 2. Harem, 3. Bast Temple and 4. The Pyramid. Of course there are other locations that were not listed like the Market, the Bathhouse and others. Oh, I almost forgot the mighty Nile River.

Horseback Fighting

Added 05:52am Oct 16, 2008

I was at Medieval England today to buy a weapon specially made for horseback fighting but things happened and I was only able to buy the weapon at the end of the scheduled horseback tournament. Anyway, before the tournament started I had a spar with a guy named Halo. He was very eager to fight. In fact, he was too eager that he suddenly attacked and killed me while I was waiting for my DCS2 update. Oh well, maybe that’s his character’s RP. He he he! A knight named conor told him that he should wait until his opponent is ready before attacking but it’s no biggie because I just wanted to know if I can still fight and I found out that I need a lot of practice still. LOL!

My 100L$ Arabella 2 Horse attached to my avatar's pelvis and adjusted!

For the horseback fighting tournament, unfortunately, there wasn’t many participants. I guess most fighters find horseback fighting tournaments expensive because one of the main requirement is having a horse and we all know how expensive horses are in Second Life. The King said that there are AKK horses that cost only 1,000L$ but still that’s a lot of money
